Dear Reader,
"You won't understand the unabashed power of a community until you're part of one"
This will just be a short one, but I think it's important to regularly post about what I/we have been getting up to, especially as this was a local promotion event...
If anyone's interested, that is the 2nd Stalham & Sutton Brownie's unit camp blanket, which keeps a record of all the of the badges the unit has completed in its 7 years since opening! (gasp)
A big thank you to everyone who came and visited us!! :)
In true Guiding style, we chose to promote ourselves in the local community by lighting a campfire, and making smores (a toasted marshmallow sandwiched between 2 chocolate digestives for those who aren't familiar with the concept). As well as singing traditional campfire songs. This girls definitely enjoyed themselves, and it was a nice leader get together too! Mine and Brown Owl's laden camp blankets also seemed to become quite a spectacle among the girls and the visitors.
Let's just say the marshmallows were popular...

I promise that I will do my best, to be true to myself and develop my beliefs, to serve the Queen and my community, to help other people and to keep the Guide Law,
Yours,
The 16-Year-Old Brownie
